The Story
Thomas Lee Bridegroom had made such a wonderful life. He had a job as an actor, and as a model, and also managed to meet the man of his dreams, Shane Bitney Crone. The two of them had been together for quite a few years, having many fun times and sharing tons of laughs. Then, perhaps the greatest day of both of their lives, they had promised each other that they would marry as soon as it was recognized as legal. They had also decided that they would come out to their parents at the same time. Shane's family had been so happy for him, he had found the love of his life, but while he was having a good time, Thomas was not. His parents had despised him for being himself and blamed Shane for making him that way. Thomas had tried to go home for Christmas that same year, but his father had threatened him and kicked him out. Now broken, he was shunned. He logged a few videos when he had his rough days, which happened to be far too many. Eventually, the pain had gotten to be too much. Thomas Lee Bridegroom passed away on May 7th, 2011, he was only 29 years old. Shane, heartbroken, wasn't able to attend the funeral services in fear that he might be harmed by Thomas's parents. He wasn't able to access any records, and as far as the government was concerned, he didn't exist to Thomas. In spite of all this, Shane stayed strong, became a public figure, and will always support and fight for equality.
